They are trying to understand the climate change at the Arctic

Climate change is the strongest around the North and South poles. When the rest of the world gets a temperature increase of 1 degree, one can expect much greater changes in these areas. What happens at the pols doesn’t stay at the poles. Changes in the weather here will affect the entire planet.
